Steve's Barn
Steve’s Barn is a very, very nice 36ft x 48 ft rough-sawn pine barn frame in perfect condition. It was protected by a metal roof. It has 3 bays (15ft, 15ft and 15ft), floor to the roof is 32ft, has 8x8 beams, 2x6 rafters and the sidewalls are 16ft. It doesn’t look like any replacement will be needed. Communia Barn
The Communia Barn is a 36ft x 70ft Oak Timber Frame Barn with 7x7x timbers in great condition. It has 5 bays, 16ft wall height, floor to peak is 32ft and it has 2x6 rafters. The Ryan Barn is a very nice 32ft x 66ft rough sawn Pine Barn Frame with 8x8 timbers. Floor to peak is 37ft and it has 14ft sidewalls. This barn has 5 bays - 12 1/2 ft, 14ft, 14ft, 14ft and 15ft. The Burlington Barn is a 30x50 hand-hewn oak barn frame with wallplates that are 50 ft long – without a splice – ALL ONE PIECE. The tiebeams are 30ft long and there are 4 bays. The Onslow Bar is a very nice small 24x36 rough sawn pine barn. I don’t see many small barns – especially ones in this very, very good condition. This would make a great cabin or guest house. It has a full 2nd floor, 8x9 oak timbers and 3x5 oak ceiling rafters – which is very rare. Floor to peak is 22 ft. The Garber Barn2 is a 40 ft x 55 ft pine and oak mix, hand-hewn barn frame. It has six (6) 12ft 6 in bays. The wall height is 16 ft 7 in and it is 13 ft 6 in from the bottom of the tie beat to the floor and 30 ft from the floor to the peak. It has round pole side braces and 8x8 timbers. Iowa Log Barns. What a gem of a find! We have TWO 30 ft x 18 ft log barns. They were covered by an additional roof for a good share of their lives so they are in great shape.
